During the early days of the Pandemic there were laws and
restrictions governing safe conduct in Bohol. I couldn’t even leave
the house. Only Lyn had a pass allowing her to go out to buy food and
other essentials. After two or three months the regulations were made
less restrictive, and over the months following, they have been
further loosened.

One of the things we
have enjoyed the most is exploring in our car. Even if we do not
leave the car we love driving to places we have not been before.

The Province of
Bohol has only one city, the provincial capital, Tagbilaran, and
forty-seven towns. We have visited every one of them except one; two
on the Island of Panglao and forty-four on the Island of Bohol. The
only town we have not been to is on the other side of Bohol on a
separate island, a town called President Carlos P. Garcia. The town
is named after the only president of the Philippines ever from Bohol.
When we lived in Tagbilaran, we lived on CPG (Carlos P. Garcia) East
Avenue.

As I wrote in
another post we have enjoyed going to a few re-opened tourist resorts
at greatly reduced rates which until a few days ago were not opened
to anybody except Bohol residents. The national government has been
working to safely reopen Bohol’s tourism. On Thanksgiving Day we
went to another one (Ananda Resort) that we enjoyed immensely. It
rained the whole time we were there, but it was very cozy. Lyn and I
were the only guests there. A great experience!

Though we did not
spend the night, we did tour their large Kangcaramel Cave, dragon
fruit plantation, and flower farm. We were the only guests on-site
when we visited.

We have also visited
Bohol Bee Farm on Panglao Island several times. They have one of our
favorite restaurants here where you can eat directly over the ocean
in a rustic setting. They also have a great ice cream shop with at
least fifteen exotic flavors like avacado, malanggay (moringa), and
charcoal. It is a really nice place to hang out.

Bohol Bee Farm has locations at about ten different locations throughout the Visayas, but the original location here on Panglao Island is our favorite.
