- Our Favorite Restaurants in Bohol

We have eaten in many restaurants in the eighteen months we have lived in Bohol. Some common ones we have been to are Jollibee, McDonald's, Mang Inasal, Greenwich, and Chow King.

We also enjoyed some of the local restaurants like Sunburst, AA Barbecue, Mooon, and many local carendarias

We have also eaten at restaurants that at one time or another were our very favorite

Frankies Cafe

Our first very favorite restaurant was Frankies Cafe at Island Center Mall. Frankies is an international restaurant specializing in American, Filipino, Mexican, Italian, and Middle Eastern foods. Their prices are a little higher than most, but they have very good food, and you can usually chat with the owner Frankie or other Westerners there.

This was taken in the morning when the
restaurant was closed

Prawn Farm

Our next favorite restaurant was the Prawn Farm Restaurant also at ICM. They offer semi-elegant dining specializing in seafood, and you can get a very simple meal for 99 php ($2). A complete meal with ice tea is 159 php ($3.25), and a full buffet just went up from 300 to 400 php (a little over $8).

Bohol Bee Farm

Our next favorite restaurant is The Buzzz of Bohol Bee Farm. The Bee Farm has a number of restaurants in the Visayas, but our favorite is the original on Panglao Island in Dauis. They are famous for their 15 exotic flavors of ice cream including malunggay, ube, dragon fruit, durian, and one of our all time favorites, charcoal. Some of them may sound weird, they are definitely among the best ice cream that I have tasted.

A.Y.C.E

Another favorite of ours is an open air restaurant in a wooded section of Tagbilaran. It is called A.Y.C.E (All You Can Eat) Restaurant, and as the name implies, you can eat as much as you like for 239 php (about $4.85 US). They serve four different kinds of chicken and three different kinds of shrimp among other things.

Talimbaw

Our last restaurant we love more than any of them for several reasons. They have great food and very reasonable prices. Their lumpia is second only to Lyn's, they have a nice variety on the menu and a wonderful variety of coffees. They are very close to our apartment in Albuquerque. And they are not just a restaurant but also an art gallery. They have many lovely paintings and unique sculptures that are great to browse as your food is being prepared. It is a quiet atmosphere and a great ambiance.
