-...Seen in Dumaguete

Signs of the Times...

We often see eye catching signs around Dumaguete. This sign is outside a restaurant at Robinnson's Place Mall.
Unbelievable deal!

This fitness gym on the Southside just comes right out and says it. "Don't be fat & ugly. Just be ugly. Gym now."
If you enroll now, you can enjoy the bliss of ONLY being ugly!

This jeepney kindly alerts us to life-threatening hidden dangers. Who knew that we were in such imminent danger?
"Too much love will kill you"
But how much is too much?

Never miss a chance to preach a little sermon... no, two little sermons.

Mixed Martial Arts in Dumaguete

CALMA - MMA (Christian and Law Martial Arts - Mixed Martial Arts) of the Philippines held a championship tournament for men and women in Robinson's Place Mall in Dumaguete. We had front row seats.
The MMA in the Philippines is a little different from that in the US in that they use sticks and a padded shield along with other conventional martial arts. They also wear more protective gear.
Held in Centre Court at Robinson's

The tournament included a women's division

The One and Only Wendie

Life with Lyn's sister Wendie (Duende - the "house elf") is never dull.

From the humble but elegant "Pineapple Princess"...

...to the "Queen of the Waterfall"

Patiently waiting for her order from Jollibee's
to be delivered

With her friends from school, Jen and Marian

In Our Neighborhood

We live in a very small (four apartments) gated community three kilometers west of downtown Dumaguete toward Valencia and the mountains.

Guard dog, Brutus
* Note:  I just found out that today, August 3rd, is Brutus' birthday.  Happy birthday, Brute Baby!! ... And many more!

And his faithful (sometimes unfaithful) sidekick,
(blank - he doesn't have a name). He's just a puppy.

On Our Street

Sometimes we get so enamored with the magnificence of faraway places that we overlook the beauty in our own front yard.
Flowers on our street

means something entirely different
in Asia.
Here it offers peace and prosperity
and hope for a better future.

What do you do when you have to go somewhere when it's raining?
Why, you take your umbrella on your motorcycle,
of course!
